Build Around Repeatable Damage Windows
Start by examining your damage rotation under uncomfortable conditions. Can you deliver useful damage after a short reposition, or does every attack require a lengthy setup For these encounters, prioritize a dependable main skill and a rotation you can execute without watching several timers instead of the arena.
Keep burst damage as an extra tool, not the entire plan. Save your strongest sequence for a clear opening, then return to reliable attacks. When comparing upgrades, consider how often you can actually use their benefits during the busiest part of a fight.
Make Defense Last Beyond the Opening
Review your defensive setup with temporary effects inactive. Aim for a character that still feels playable when an emergency button is unavailable. Address obvious resistance gaps, improve your main defensive layer, and avoid treating a larger damage number as the answer to every failed attempt.
Give recovery the same attention. Test whether your resource plan still works during stretches without smaller enemies to defeat. If repeated attacks leave you unable to use essential skills, reduce unnecessary spending or strengthen recovery before adding another expensive damage interaction.
Choose Movement You Can Maintain
For a channeling setup, establish a strict stopping rule: release the skill when your escape route becomes uncertain. Practice shorter damage windows rather than committing to a full channel every time. Judge the setup by successful repetitions, not its best uninterrupted performance.
If your skills leave damage behind after casting, use that interval to reposition deliberately. Move toward visible space instead of circling automatically. With any setup, reserve room for the next attack pattern and avoid chasing a target into a position you cannot safely leave.
Control the Fight Before Chasing Speed
Use crowd control selectively. If a control effect reliably interrupts a particular threat, preserve it for moments when your movement options are limited. Do not make survival depend on every boss responding identically; keep a separate escape plan for situations where control provides little help.
